Thank You Oakland!

This past weekend’s Soul Food Stroll: Brunch was nothing short of magical. With over 150 guests in attendance, the room was filled with warmth, laughter, and that unmistakable feeling of community that you feel in your bones and smile. From the moment guests walked in, the energy was alive. Families gathered around tables, music carried through the space, and yes! We truly partied like it was 1999. It was one of those events where you could feel the joy in every corner, from the food to the conversations to the dance floor.

We were proud to feature a lineup of incredible vendors who brought their own flavor, creativity, and excellence to the experience. And hosting at Muse Jingletown gave us the perfect backdrop: beautiful, artful, welcoming, and aligned with the spirit of love.  But what really made the day unforgettable was the people. Seeing generations show up parents, kids, aunties, uncles, all in one space, supporting, laughing, and engaging with us, reminded us why we do this.

The aunties kept us entertained with their honest feedback about the youth and had us cracking up the entire time. That kind of real, unfiltered love is what keeps us grounded and growing.

Oakland continues to show up for us in the most powerful way. This city has a deep-rooted culture of resilience, pride, and connection, and every event feels like an extension of that legacy.

The Soul Food Stroll isn’t just an event, it’s a reflection of Oakland’s heartbeat, where culture, cuisine, and community come together. We’re already looking forward to our next Oakland Stroll in May, and if this past weekend was any indication, it’s only getting bigger, better, and even more impactful.
